We are so excited to share our very first Easter styled shoot with you! (And to be back on the blog!)
Easter is a favourite time for many. It could be that the weather is changing and Spring is on its way. Maybe it’s all the pastel colours and flowers that grace stores and social media this time of year that gets you excited. Perhaps it’s because it’s a special time shared with family and friends around your dinner table.
This week many of you will be planning and preparing one of the first gatherings in a little while so why not make it extra special with some sweet Easter touches?
Bright blooms like our real-touch tulip bouquet is the centre of our Easter table. They set the tone for the rest of decor and is giving us all the Spring vibes! Flowers, whether everlasting or fresh elevate any space and given the chance, we use them everywhere!
When setting a table for guests I often use plain white dishes (dinner plates, side plates and bowls) as a neutral back drop so that the theme of the table can take centre stage! We’ve used pieces from our Adorn Collection to get that Spring pastel feel just right for this shoot. The peach cups and mint tea plates are from the same collection but we’ve mixed and match for added interest. (moreover we couldn’t decide on one or the other because they’re both too sweet!)
Choose things that add that extra splash of “theme” to your table to delight guests. (We love a good theme here at SHCS!!)
It could be coordinating colour foil chocolate added to your tablescape. It could be clever ways to incorporate (plain or dyed) eggs into your centrepiece- also a great way to get the kiddies involved in your celebration!
We’ve used egg shaped dishes as little dessert plates and felt rabbits on each dinner plate that also act as a take away for each guest! Inexpensive items can be creatively used to wow your dinner (or brunch) mates.
You know how much we like to reuse items too! (I am that person who keeps wrapping paper and ribbon for other occasions! Who’s with me?!) We tied our cotton napkins with turquoise velvet ribbon that came on a lovely Christmas present this year (and I’ve been dying to use it!)
And of course lighting is everything! Even if your soirée is planned for the morning (when hopefully the sun is streaming in with the promise of summer on the way!) Light some candles for the extra ambience! (unscented is a good choice as not to compete with the flavours of your meal)
